The Warrior Way

Warriors: Make It Happen!

About me…

I am the principal at Watauga Middle School, in the Ft. Worth, Texas area. I started  this blog as a way to expand communication with my faculty in a non-traditional way by acknowledging the “wave” of the future. Technology is the wave, and I have bought my board- I’m just a little scared of the water…

This is my third year as principal of WMS. Each year gets better and better.

In addition to being the principal of WMS, I am also a daughter, wife and mother. My parents are proud of what I do and who I am. My husband is a little baffled. He’s a civil inspector. The world of education is a mystery to him. My children are just babies. As of now, they think I’m crazy. They are right on!

I quilt for a hobby. Quilting. Quilting was a little baffling to me at first. Actually- it still is. That baffledness is what puts me to sleep. A friend of mine asked how I have time to do it: I don’t! I force myself to do it at night. It confuses me and I fall asleep…

Guess that sums it up about me. I’ll explain my thoughts on education at a later date. Later when I have time. And energy. And time…

Math Inclusion on WMS campus is off to a great start. Many students are taking pride in the fact they are included in mainstream and I feel they are benefiting from the opportunity. Additionally, it is proving advantageous for me as I learn strategies and pedagogy from my colleagues.

I am a new teacher at WMS, but not a new teacher to Birdville. I spent the last 15 years at Watauga Elementary and loved it. I was just ready to try something new and different.
